일러스트레이터 소개
셜리 휴즈는 영국 워렐에서 태어나 옥스퍼드의 리버풀 미술 학교와 러스킨 미술 학교를 다녔습니다. 일러스트레이터로 일했고, 어린이 문학에 기여한 공로로 '엘리너 파전 상'을 받은 작가입니다. 우리 나라에는 그림책 『앨피가 일등이에요』가 나와 있습니다. 셜리 휴즈는 어린이들을 위해 수많은 책을 쓰고 또 책 속에 그림도 함께 그렸습니다. 그 가운데 많은 책들이 앞으로 오랫동안 어린이들에게 사랑받을 훌륭한 책으로 평가되고 있습니다. 현재 건축가인 남편과 함께 런던 노팅힐에서 살고 있습니다.
