일러스트레이터 소개
1948년 독일 부퍼탈에서 태어났습니다. 오랫동안 광고 분야에서 일러스트레이터로 활동하면서『에스콰이어』지,『트랜스아틀란틱』지 등 세계적인 잡지에 그림을 그렸습니다. 1980년대 말부터 그림책 작가로 활동하기 시작하여 1993년에 그림책『아빠가 되고 싶어요』로 그림책 부문의 독일 아동문학상을 받았고, 지금은 부퍼탈에 있는 베르기슈 대학교에서 교수로 일하면서, 부인과 아들 레오나르드와 함께 단란하게 살고 있습니다. 작품으로는『누가 내 머리에 똥 쌌어?』『커다란 질문』『청어 열 마리』등이 있습니다. 2006년에 안데르센 상을 수상했습니다.
