책 내용

Kindergarten-Grade 2-Because \"Little Monkey never listened,\" wind takes him on a serendipitous adventure. An elated elephant couple mistake him for their new baby girl and plunk him into a pink dress. From this point on, he must constantly assert that \"I"m NOT a little girl\" to each animal who helps him find his way home. When a pelican finally takes the naughty fellow home, he is welcomed by his family and given a special present to insure against further mishaps. However, the following adventure is left to readers" imaginations, because \"Little Monkey was BIG trouble!/Little Monkey never listened./He made faces and never did what he was told.\" Varying amounts of text fill one side of each spread with framed illustrations on the other side. Bits of artwork spill onto the text page, helping to bring the eye back to the understated typeface. The author"s whimsical artistic interpretation adds a sense of character to each animal and humor to each situation. Bright bits of blue, pastel pinks, and rich reds offset the dark black-brown backgrounds of the artwork and opposing white pages of text. This is a delightful story to read aloud or one-on-one the surprise flap at the end shows youngsters that at times, they are all \"Little Monkeys.\"-Tina Hudak, Takoma Park Maryland Library ab_025.gif ab_025_01.jpg ab_025_02.jpg ab_025_03.jpg ab_025_04.jpg
